I absolutely love the LEGO flower sets so it was inevitable that I will begin the flower bow tie building spree using the parts I have from all my LEGO flower and botanical sets.
As a matter of fact, I have quite a few I built and then disassembled and stored in a dedicated box just for making floral bow ties… so now you have been warned and you know what’s coming.
However, as funny as this will sound, most of the parts for this flower bow tie are not from the aforementioned sets. He he. But if you are an avid fan of lego… stuff like this shouldn’t surprise you.
No, in fact, just before christmas, I paid a visit to the LEGO store in Düsseldorf and – yep, you guessed it – went straight for the pick a brick wall.
Among all the cool parts, I found the LEGO plant flower stem part 68211 and had recently seen the “flower bouquet” technique from Emil Lidé using exactly this part so of course, I grabbed a few handfulls and then topped them off with a bunch of red flowers.
What I did have already and used was the white bow tie and strap from my Bow Tie Bleau shop and the green leaves.
It takes some time and practice to place the flowers in such a way that they sit properly on each of the three stems, but the result is well worth the time and effort put into making this wonderful flower bow tie.
Let me know what you think and what other ideas you have around either the technique used or the current flower bow tie. I was also thinking to make both the bow tie, leaves and flowers red except a line created by switching some of the flowers to another color.
If you want to also create bow ties from LEGO bricks and want a way to wear them proper, check out the Bow Tie Bleau shop.
And as usual, have a crazy day!
